Good things are happening yes! I got a new printer. I'm still getting used to scanning stuff with it argh.

I drew this a few weeks ago, in just a couple of hours over two days. I don't like the scan (for some reason) but I absolutely love the original. I wanted some watercolour texture porn and I got it.

Two years after playing Pathologic, I've barely touched the mountain of fanart I want to draw for it. SO many ideas <3

ballpoint pen, watercolours, gouache, ink, weird thin paper

I had never even heard of the game, so this drawing is an acheivment in its own right. (In other words, I don't have to relate it to the game to like it - I just like it for being a good work of art.)

:) Well, that's one of the best compliments a fanart artist can get. Thank you!

I think it is an excellent piece! I love the slightly faded figure in the background. When I look at your art it always draws me in. That figure in the background looks similar to the way we see some of the ghosts we have in this house I live in (We have around 10 - 12)

I have a similar problem using my scanner when I scan my sketches, I have to run the image through Photoshop and adjust the levels, I usually lower the Contrast levels to remove some of the harshness out of the scan, I have to keep referring to my sketch to try and match it on screen.

Hope this helps.

PS: As always, your art inspires me.....    :)

Once again I apologise for the time it has taken me to answer……..

We have a few resident ghosts here, there is a House Keeper, a Butler, a Chamber Maid ( She fell down the 3 flights of stairs from the attic where the servants lived, and just happened to be pregnant by the Master of the house) There is also a little boy and numerous characters who worked around what used to be the dairy back when the place was built in 1647. I have seen one lady who appeared to be in 1940's style clothing, the house was taken over by the MOD during WW2

I've barely started Klara's scenario... the translation is a bit dodgy (I'm not sure if she actually believes she has a twin sister or if she's just trying to prove it to herself), but I already feel really bad for her... In the other scenarios she's portrayed as this really creepy mysterious spirit that does whatever she wants, but when you play through her eyes it's increasingly clear that she has no idea who she is or what her purpose even is...

Hopefully, I will understand this a little more once I get further into the game! Regardless, I really admire your color scheme and ability to bring out brick textures with just color.

The translation's actually not as dodgy as it seems. The vagueness is intentional, you'll see :) I liked her scenario, it had a few really unexpected twists, and I thought nothing could surprise me after playing the other two. Thank you for another lovely comment

It's not a guy, it's her twin sister projection of her guilty mind :D

Ah, sorry. Though, now you've said that I've realised they do indeed look alike. More fool me for not knowing the game :)

you will never like the scanned version as much as the original, trust me...the bane of my existence....
anyway, imi place mult faptul ca, desi ai folosit culori calde si pretty and stuff, tot ai reusit sa creezi o atmosfera mai creepy asa, specifica jocului. sper ca intelegi ce vreau sa zic, nu le am cu exprimarea ^^;

No actually it depends of the scanner. Some actually do a good job, and with others I learn exactly what I need to do in Photoshop to fix the scan. I'm still unfamiliar with my new one.

And yep, this is sepia horror rather than classically dark. Ma bucur ca-ti place ^_^

I feel this could have used sharper contrasts, and perhaps darker overall tone. I like the red splotches and the composition, but don't feel the oppression of the game's atmosphere.

...and I really need to return to Pathologic one of these days. Still have only completed only one of the three scenarios.

Hm, I was going for colour contrast rather than value contrast here, but value is indeed one of my weaker points in general. I should really pay more attention to it, thanks for letting me know. (incoming greyscale works!)

And omg you totally need to play all of the scenarios to get *why* the game is so good. Do it, really! :eager:
