I'm not having any luck with watercolours lately. I'm just glad I had the intuition to scan this before I ruined it.

Coloured inks, watercolour, salt, masking fluid, slight saturation adjustment in Photoshop.

Remember that I did ruin the original after all (I should scan it for you to see :P)

And yes, any shortcuts that keep me from drawing millions of detailed tiny things are welcome! :D

Oh, they're well-known techniques (such as using salt). I guess what makes my watercolors different is the fact that I use many layers.

just keep practicing. i had problems with watercolors when i first used them also. just do a bunch of doodles and practice.

I have about 10 years of practice already, and I think I master them well enough :) It's not that. Sometimes they just suddenly decide to hate me for a while. Which is fine, since I enjoy digital art too.
